In the UK the Creative Sector provides around 2 million jobs - employment in the sector has grown at double the rate of the economy as a whole.

In Knowsley the sector covers:

Linked through the Chamber and Knowsley MBC, there is:

• Start up advice and funding through the Fresh Start gateway
• Training and networking events
• Subsidised studio space
• Trade shows and exhibition facilities
• Free business support from partner organisations

Creative companies can also access research and development tax credit and enterprise finance guarantee schemes. The Technology Strategy Board has pledged to date £15 million grant to aid research and development for creative industries based business:  http://www.innovateuk.org/
