In order to increase commerce and trade the Chamber promotes and generates contacts and leads for the business community.

In the last 12 months through our one-to-one meetings, events, seminars and workshops Knowsley Chamber has helped and assisted over 600 local businesses.  Therefore if you are just starting up, or wish to grow an existing business in the home market or abroad we can help you.

Membership can be as little as £3 per week.  This provides you with:

MEET AT THE CHAMBER: Members frequently come to the Chamber to discuss business plans and ideas in confidence.  We find that by "opening our door" it creates an opportunity to think about objectives, and take advantage of the know-how, advice and signposting that exists.

MEETING ROOM AT THE CHAMBER: With advance notice, the Chamber has meeting room accommodation (up to 10 peopl e) which is available for use by Members. Refreshments and catering can be provided (at an additional charge).

FREE TAX ADVICE CLINIC:  The McGrigors Tax team has recently picked up two major "gongs" at the Taxation Awards 2011, and have been named 'Best Tax Investigations Team' and 'Best VAT team'.  McGrigors have the largest and longest established tax team of its kind in the UK and has genuine experience in all areas of contentious tax (direct and indirect tax). The team includes former Inspectors of Taxes, former HM Customs Officers, solicitors and barristers, our experience is considerable! FINANCE AND GRANTS: Eligible businesses or individuals can access grants for a specific project or purpose.  A grant will cover only part of the costs involved - the remainder should be provided by you or your business. 

• KNOWSLEY BUILDING IMPROVEMENT GRANT (BIG): Financial assistance to businesses in, or moving to Knowsley when embarking on an investment project involving the creation or protection of jobs. Grants are available to SME's to support building/construction/security related improvement schemes
• SMALL BUSINESS GROWTH GRANT (SBGG): Financial assistance for small businesses towards the cost of capital equipment and if the project is creating new jobs through growth, or to access significant new markets

FRESH START: Available to Knowsley residents and non-residents who wish to start a business in Knowsley.  Fresh Start is FREE; it will help you through all aspects of getting started in business, including access to a qualified business advisor, and ongoing support when you need it (including support / mentoring even after your business has started trading).

EXPORT: What you are exporting and where you are exporting to will play a major role in determining the export documentation you require.  Through the Chamber's "Export Alliance" we are equipped to provide professional advice to experienced and new exporters at every stage of the exporting process.
