North West Chambers of Commerce: Formed
from 21 Chambers, and Knowsley is an active player. The forum
provides excellent opportunities for business views to be heard
regionally and nationally, ensuring that each Chamber has a route
through which its members have a united voice.
Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP):
Representation on the LEP with other Liverpool City Region
Chambers. The LEP is committed to creating a
thriving international city region, based upon global trade,
science & innovation, manufacturing and tourism. The
partnership covers the boroughs of Halton, Sefton, Knowsley,
Liverpool, St. Helens and Wirral - an economic area that people
recognise, with a population of 1.5 million and 49,000
businesses.
The plan includes major opportunities to create economic growth
and jobs within the private sector through major projects such as
Liverpool SuperPort, the Mersey Gateway, Daresbury Science and
Innovation Campus, Liverpool Waters and Wirral Waters. It also
emphasises the importance of business start-up, support for small
firms and accelerated business development.
Economic Partnership Board: The Chamber
has representation on the Knowsley MBC Economic Partnership
Board.
Europe and Beyond: The British Chambers of
Commerce forms a network of Approved Chambers dedicated to offering
a high level of quality assurance that conforms to the highest
standards operated by their opposite numbers in the rest of
Europe.
