Knowsley Chamber members visited Liverpool Football Club in October for a networking event which included a behind the scenes tour of the wonderful Main Stand.
The event started with Liam Power, Procurement Manager, Knowsley Council taking to the stage to talk to members about how they can improve their tenders and opened his door to any companies that want to chat and seek help on how best to pitch their tender documents.
Liam was then followed by Ged Poynton, Former Stadium Safety Officer and consultant to the club. Ged gave a passionate presentation describing his wealth of experience at the Club, spanning several decades. How he helped build the Centenary Stand (now the Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand) and of course the new Main Stand.
Ged provided a run down on how the new Main Stand has been transformed into one of the largest all seater single stands in European football and how it’s transformed the ground into a stadium befitting a club such as Liverpool FC, European Champions.
Following the presentations our guests were taken on a behind the scenes tour which included the Board Room, the media/TV area, the dug-out, the changing rooms and the players entrance. The fit and finish in the hospitality areas are now second to none.
