Call for volunteers to inform Cycling and Walking

The Liverpool City Region are looking to create a LCR level cycling and walking forum/board from each of the local authority areas. The most appropriate people to attend these meetings are obviously those who walk and cycle Merseyside’s streets and roads to advise on cycling and walking issues.

Places are limited to two reps from each borough with meetings to be chaired by a senior officer from the Combined Authority with meetings taking place on a quarterly basis. The main objective of the group will be to scrutinise and advise on walking and cycling scheme plans as they are brought forward and to take a lead role on consultation and engagement of schemes. The group will also have a proactive role in steering the Liverpool City Region’s participation in the Bike Life programme (similar to Manchester’s Bee Lines).

The first meeting is likely to take place towards the end of July as this will tie into the first draft version of the Bike Life report and the Local Cycling and Walking Implementation Plan.

On this basis I would be grateful if you could let me know if you are interested in being involved and provide me with your details or the details of your reps by Friday 7th June. You can contact me via email joanne.frear@knowsley.gov.uk or 0151 443 2239.
