Local charity Caring Connections staff completed a 160ft bungee jump this month raising awareness for the Barbara Bettle Foundation. The ‘Bungee for Barb’ was set up in memory of local resident Barbara Bettle who lost her life to suicide in 2015.
The Barbara Bettle Foundation was officially launched in June 2019 providing a range of fully funded support services to individuals bereaved through suicide across the Merseyside region. Services include fully funded counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy, group activities and relaxation sessions.
Paul Growney CEO of Caring Connections personally completed the jump and stated ‘We are very proud of the foundation and are trying to do a number of these events throughout the year, not so much as fundraisers but as awareness raisers. The more people we can support through the foundation the better, we can offer support all across Merseyside in a range of locations so if you have been affected by suicide please get in touch’.
