Caring Connections CEO recognised as a Chartered Companion with CMI

Caring Connections is delighted to announce Paul Growney has been recognised as a Chartered Companion with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). It is one of the highest accolades that can be bestowed on a leader.

Chartered Manager status recognises exceptional management skills and is awarded to people who are committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Chartered Companionship is only bestowed on individuals who have consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership within their organisations and sectors.

Chartered Companions commit to working with CMI to achieve its mission of better led and managed organisations, and accept personal responsibility for developing a new generation of inspiring leaders and managers. The Companion community aims to reflect society across the UK and worldwide.

Companions are nominated by the CMI community but senior strategic leaders, or those with outstanding contributions to theory and teaching in the field of management and leadership, are welcome to nominate themselves should they wish to further commit to improving society and business.

Research shows that there are groups of people underrepresented in senior management and leadership, which constrains the productivity delivered through diverse leadership teams. Individuals who demonstrate a substantive record of management and leadership, not necessarily all at the top level but clearly on a pathway where the next step will be reaching senior strategic level, should be nominated or choose to put themselves forward.

Paul Growney, CEO at Caring Connections, said: “Massively proud of becoming a companion and support working towards improving leadership across the region. As someone who has dedicated themselves to the local voluntary and community sector I hope this accolade can aid in improving leadership amongst the community sector.”

Professor Bob Cryan CBE DL CMgr CCMI FREng, Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive, University of Huddersfield, CMI Trustee and Chair, Board of Companions said: “We are delighted that Paul will bring his passion for improving wellbeing, a driver of higher levels of productivity and top priority for employees and managers alike, to the Chartered Management Institute. Through our community of influential Chartered Companions, we continue to drive home the message that achieving extraordinary, sustained growth requires greater investment in the skills that result in better led and managed organisations. I warmly welcome Paul to the Chartered Companion community that comprises the UK’s most outstanding leaders.”

Chartered Companions may come from any size of organisation (measured by number of staff or revenue) and from any sector or organisation type. For more information about the Chartered Companion accreditation please visit www.managers.org.uk/companions
