Knowsley Cleaning Business Awarded Contract for The Shakespeare North Playhouse

We are delighted to announce local Cleaning Contractor – Elite Cleaning Solutions Ltd has been successful in securing a contract with Kier on The Shakespeare North Playhouse.

Company Director Leanne Christian submitted a bid for the Cabin Cleaning contract following her attendance at the Shakespeare supplier event facilitated by the Knowsley Council’s Business Team and Knowsley Chamber.

Leanne said “Attending the event gave our business a unique opportunity to meet face to face with representatives from Kier and most importantly their Supply Chain Manager – Neil Carson”, Leanne continued “We gained a greater understanding of the project and consequently we were able to demonstrate our ability to fulfil their requirements”.

Elite Cleaning Solutions Ltd started from very humble beginnings with one lady and her bucket!

In 2010 Leanne suffered a back injury which forced her to give up her job, following a successful operation and period of recuperation Leanne decided to channel her energy into starting her own business and Elite Cleaning was born.

Leanne said “When I started the business it was just me and my trusted bucket, however my commitment to offering a high standard clean ensured a steady increase in demand for my services and as a direct result my husband Simon left his job to work full time with me in the business”.

Elite Cleaning has now become a family affair, with Leanne employing her mother-in-law into the post of Office Manager, Leanne said “Knowing I have a fantastic team I can trust to assist with the smooth running of day to day operations ensures I can focus on my growth plans for the company”. Leanne continued “I still have the bucket I started with safely tucked away in the store room, I can’t bear to part with it, it’s a reminder of how far the business has come in such a relatively short period of time and I’m so proud of what we have achieved and I’m excited for the future”.

The business has successfully built a strong commercial customer base including contracts with high profile developers including Bellway Homes, Prospect Homes, and the Environment Agency. Leanne said “We are delighted to have secured the contract with Kier and play our small part in the delivery of the prestigious Shakespeare North Playhouse. We pride ourselves on employing local people so to win work right here on our doorstep is an extra bonus.”

Cllr Tony Brennan, Knowsley Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development said: “This is more great news that a local company has been awarded a contract as part of the construction of The Shakespeare North Playhouse in Prescot. Wherever possible, the council wants local companies to be involved and benefit from this project and our Growth Hub team is working closely with Kier to help to facilitate this.
