INCREDIBLE EDIBLE KNOWSLEY

We work with the community for the community growing food and the food we grow is free for all.

Our aims are to
• Reduce food poverty
• Reduce isolation & loneliness
• Improve health & wellbeing
• Improve the environment
• To educate

We are based at Court Hey Park and this is the centre in which we grow the seedlings that will then be planted out across Knowsley in public places so that the community can benefit.

We plan to build an outdoor kitchen and classroom so that when food is ready to harvest we can hold workshops for the community to show them what can be done with the food grown. Fresh food boxes along with recipe cards will be given to people to take away with them.

Courses will be held here so that people can learn new skills and gain qualifications.

Court Hey will become a fresh food, food bank giving food out to the community when it is ready. Local allotments have also offered to donate their surplus stock so this can be given out to the community.

We work with everyone and provide therapeutic horticulture, helping adults in social care to transition out of day-care centres into volunteering, mentoring and employment. We also work with drug/alcohol recovery, youth offending, children’s disabilities and many other groups.
