Social Value is at the heart of what Citrus do and this Christmas was no exception! Citrus chose to support the Kirkby Christmas Crusade, which is headed up by Andrea Roberts and friends, an initiative set up by the individuals last year to ensure no child in Kirkby would be without a selection box and some Christmas cheer.
The crusade travels through streets in Kirkby by way of a truck transformed into a sleigh, with Christmas characters handing out selection boxes to children.
Starting with a call to action for all suppliers, connections and clients via their social media platforms, Citrus aimed high with the aspiration to collect one thousand selection boxes in just two weeks.
Within the first 24hrs of the pledge, stakeholders began to donate the first 180. With donations coming in thick and fast, a tree was constructed to act as a visual aid for connections to follow the progress of the pledge.
The generosity of suppliers, clients and friends of Citrus gained momentum with visits to Citrus HQ from far and wide. At the end of week one, the half-way point was achieved, totalling at 500 selection boxes.
Local new and existing suppliers got involved including a visit from a crane and an under 10’s Football Club getting behind the good cause. With the help and support from Citrus Stakeholders, the total surpassed the target and reached a whopping 1,370 selection boxes.
