Knowsley Disability Concern

Knowsley Disability Concern is a community-based organisation, which helps disabled people to have choice and control and enjoy more independence.

KDC delivers a range of services in line with its vision: to see communities where all people are included, live independently and are valued as equal citizens.
Activities include:
-Independent citizen, crisis and issue based advocacy services for disabled adults and older people
-Non-instructed advocacy for people who do not have capacity
-Delivery of the Knowsley Advocacy Hub
-Providing support and promoting self-advocacy through the facilitation of the Knowsley Being Involved Group, an organisation of adults with learning disabilities
-Youth self-advocacy training and awareness sessions in schools and colleges
-Information, advice and support service for people to access Direct Payment enabling them to manage individual budgets and self-direct their social care and support needs
-Payroll services for people who use Direct Payments to employ a Personal Assistant
-General information, advice and signposting services
