Vibe

Vibe, formerly Knowsley Youth Mutual, is a youth organisation dedicated to supporting young people through a range of inspiring and inclusive clubs, activities and programmes. We support young people to strengthen their relationships, improve their self-esteem and enable them to strengthen their bonds with those around them, ultimately creating positive and vibrant communities that we can all be proud of.

Vibe is a member led organisation which provides staff, volunteers and young people the opportunity to influence the strategic direction of the organisation as well as how the organisation runs on a daily basis.

Vibe is governed by a Board of Directors of which two are staff members and two are young people. Sitting below the Board of Directors, Vibe has a Representative Body comprising of eight elected staff representatives and eight young people’s representatives, whose role is to scrutinise the work of the Vibe Board, bring challenge and ideas and be the conduit between the Board and wider Vibe membership.

Young people in Knowsley face daily challenges to their health and wellbeing due to high levels of deprivation. Knowsley is currently the 2nd most deprived Local Authority nationally and since 2010 Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council has had real terms cut in funding of 52%.

With the above said, Vibe has taken a step towards financing the future of the society by embracing an enterprising culture and utilising current assets, along with investing in new assets that can generate income. These projects include:

• KNOWSLEY OUTDOOR EDUCATION CENTRE AND
• YOUNG PERSON SCHOOL HOLIDAY CLUBS
