Liverpool Merseyside Theatre Trust

Formed in 1999, the two city-centre theatres were brought together under the leadership of the Liverpool and Merseyside Theatres Trust.

Building on a history that had already kindled the careers of many of today’s most respected theatre professionals, the company has developed a reputation regionally, nationally and internationally for ground-breaking theatre practice.

Beyond our stages our programme of community engagement connects our work to people in some of the most socially and economically deprived wards in the UK, through innovative projects that respond to local needs. In the last ten years we have planted deep roots with hard-to-engage local communities, and we are increasingly being asked to share our expertise with other organisations.

We are two buildings with many audiences and communities, brought together by a sincere belief that theatre at its best transforms lives.
