Strawberry Field

Strawberry Field is a project on behalf of The Salvation Army. We are a visitor centre which includes a cafe, retail space and visitor experience. Our project is Steps at Strawberry Field which is a number of learning and developing programmes we run on site in our learning centre. The programmes help to support vulnerable adults gain employment.

Strawberry Field, the iconic site immortalised by The Beatles and John Lennon, now serves as a unique addition to Beatles tourism, with responsible tourism at its heart.

Through our exhibition, learn about the history of the site; including stories from the former children’s home and about how John came to write the famous song. The café is a place to socialise and enjoy delicious dishes and the shop stocks a wide range of authentic merchandise. The gardens, where a young John Lennon played as a child, offer a calm space for reflection.

All sales through the exhibition, café and shop fund a the Steps at Strawberry Field programmes, aimed at those with learning difficulties or other barriers to employment.
