Funding Success for John Paul Project

Caring Connections has been successful in being awarded £9950.00 by the National Lotteries Awards for All fund to further develop ‘The John Paul Project’.

The John Paul Project was set up in memorial to local veteran John Paul Finnegan who tragically lost his life to suicide in 2018 through a long battle with PTSD after leaving the army.

The aim of the project is to increase the availability of counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy support available to veterans in the Liverpool city region. This funding enables the project to further develop increasing the amount of sessions per week available to local veterans.

Paul Growney CEO stated ‘ This is amazing news for the project, we have been overwhelmed with all the current need and this will really help in to continue to expand the much needed support resources for our local veterans’

Veterans are able to self-refer to programme and will be supported in one to one sessions with number of sessions personalised to their specific needs in venues in Knowsley / Liverpool and Wirral. The programme also offers support to veterans families who may also be in emotional distress.
