Genesis School of Business offers Young People the Chance to Get Ahead

Genesis Jobs, Education and Training Ltd has secured funding to run a study programme for young people aged 16 to 19.

Young people who enrol on the course will work towards an NCFE Level 2 Diploma qualification in Skills for Business and a Level 2 Lean Management qualification.  In addition to these two qualifications the students will have the opportunity to participate in a number of enrichment activities aimed at developing their self-esteem, confidence and their cultural awareness.  These activities will include a visit to the International Slavery museum in Liverpool and a three-day residential in Lake Windermere where they will be able to participate in a number of outdoor activities.

Towards the end of the 12 week programme the students will complete a two week placement with a local employer enabling them to put the theory that they have learnt in the classroom into practice.

All students will leave the programme having developed their interview skills, updated their CVs and gained an insight into the civil service job application process, a sector which appears to be buoyant despite the unprecedented high levels of unemployment that we are experiencing here in the UK at the moment. All students who come on the course will receive a £25 a week bursary, a £50 voucher for successfully completing week six of the programme and a £100 bonus on successful completion of the programme.

Additionally, students will be given the use of a laptop for the duration of the course, a free Arriva bus pass which entitles them to unlimited free travel throughout the North West of England and they can take advantage of our free business lunch and breakfast facilities.

Dr Craig Fletcher, Study Programme Manager, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for young people in Merseyside to gain the edge in today’s increasingly competitive labour market.  There is a real danger that due to the covid-19 epidemic young people will be left behind and we felt an obligation to help our young people stay afloat”

The next course commences on the 12th October 2020 with the last few remaining places available.  If you want to find out more about the programme phone Helen Miles on 07810205302. Alternatively, you can email her on helen.miles@kickstart2employment.com.
