The Greener Gardening Company records exemplary year of Working Well

The Greener Gardening Company (formerly White Moss Horticulture Ltd) has recorded an exemplary year of Working Well.

As 2020 is being marked up as a year of the virus, in 2019 The Greener Gardening Company were committed to improving the well-being of their employees with a programme of activities which has resulted in a series of achievements and acknowledgements.

The Greener Gardening Company, championed by Simon Heywood, Environmental, Health & Safety Manager, has attained national and local Wellbeing recognition.

The company has attained the Workplace Wellbeing Charter which demonstrates that The Greener Gardening Company are forward thinking in cascading wellbeing practices throughout their organisation and demonstrates their commitment to wellbeing. The national charter status coincides with their participation in the Knowsley Working Well programme, consistently achieving the Gold standard now for the third year in a row.

The business benefitted from Blood Pressure awareness training in 2018, and since then they have been continuing to improve staff health and wellbeing in their business. In 2019 the team have been involved in a wide range of activities, including:
– H&S inspections / Safety walks
– 100’s of safety and operator related training hours
– Securing Disability Confident Committed Employer status
– Training aimed at supporting employees affected by domestic abuse
– Mental Health First Aid training
– A programme of activities and promotions for: Mental Health Awareness Week; Men’s Health Week; and Cervical Cancer Awareness Week.

The company is a champion of wellbeing best practice and for the icing on the cake, Safety Manager Simon has been shortlisted for H&S Manager of the year, in the finals of the SHE Awards 2020.
