Guidance for businesses seeking to help voluntary, community, and social enterprise organisations

GOV.UK has outlined guidance for businesses seeking to help voluntary, community, and social enterprise organisations during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

The update on the GOV website details how businesses can offer services, funds and volunteers to civil society during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. It includes detail on:

— If you can offer skills, services, or assets
— If you can offer funds
— If your workforce can volunteer

The voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector plays a key role across the country, positively impacting the life of many. The sector has been mobilising across the UK providing practical and emotional support to vulnerable groups.

Understandably, the financial implications to mobilising and supporting volunteers and the increased demand in services has placed pressure on the sector. While the government has announced £750m of additional funding to support the VCSE sector, businesses can also play a valuable role in supporting the sector’s response to the outbreak.
