Next year Knowsley will become the Liverpool City Region Borough of Culture. Already plans for the year are well developed and some key highlights have already been announced. In the coming weeks more information will be shared about the year-long programme of events and special moments.
There promises to be something for everyone to enjoy – from the opening of The Shakespeare North Playhouse to a borough wide sculpture trail, a mass celebration of sport, masterpiece art exhibitions to really special moments in all our towns and villages.
Importantly the year will provide time for us all to come together after the pandemic and hopefully bring a big boost to everyone – businesses included.
2022 is going to be a really special year for Knowsley and we would like as many businesses to be involved as possible to help make the year a truly remarkable one and something people will be talking about for years to come.
As we approach 2022 a dedicated website www.cultureknowsley.co.uk has been launched. This will be a key online reference point throughout the year. Updates and information is being added to the website all the time as events are announced and new attractions confirmed – so please do keep an eye on it. Also, if you are on social media please follow @cultureknowsley on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and ask your staff, contacts, friends and family to do the same. And of course please feel free to share information about Borough of Culture so we can make sure as many people as possible know about our plans.
Some Knowsley organisations and employers are already engaged in our work to plan for the year but opportunities still exist for businesses to get more involved or offer their time or expertise.
