Leukaemia & Myeloma Research UK – beating blood cancer with stem cell therapies

Leukaemia & Myeloma Research UK was founded in 2015 and specialises in using stem cell therapies as a more effective treatment to fight blood cancer.

The charity invests in specialist research into stem cell therapies to treat blood cancer as well as raising public awareness of the benefits of such therapies in the treatment of blood cancers.

Leukaemia & Myeloma Research UK also offers a fully-funded and part-funded stem cell storage service for qualifying families, called the Model Cell Biobank.

The Model Cell Biobank is the UK’s first umbilical cord blood stem cell storage service which offers expectant parents the opportunity to safely store their baby’s cord blood stem cells at no harm or risk to mother or baby, for future treatment for the baby or an immediate family member.

Cord blood stem cells are currently being used to treat and cure more than 80 life-threatening illnesses, including many cancers, immune deficiencies and genetic disorders.

Leukaemia & Myeloma Research UK is a proud member of The Institute of Fundraising, a professional membership body for UK fundraising. For more information please visit the Leukaemia & Myeloma Research UK website: http://leukaemiamyelomaresearchuk.org/
