The team at the Liverpool City Region Supported Employment Forum, would like to invite Chamber members to their first Supported Employment event at Anfield Stadium on Tuesday 28th January 10:00 – 13:00.
Nationally, only 5.8% of people with a learning disability are in paid employment. Supported internships and supported employment opportunities are changing lives for people with special educational needs and disabilities.
There are also many benefits for employers; increased staff morale, a diverse workforce, reduction in staff turnover and a positive public image of your organisation.
The event will be delivered in three sections:
- Presentations from previous supported internship participants now in employment, their families, employers and education providers to inspire and inform.
- A market place with stalls hosted by current supported internship students, previous participants now in employment, family members, employers, education providers and support agencies.
- An interactive session with our future partners to explore and understand any concerns or barriers, which will then inform the next set of smaller bespoke events to offer tailored support from experts.
