Maxwell Hodge Solicitors recently participated in “Make a Will” month, where they drew up client’s simple Wills free of charge in return for a donation to St Joseph’s Hospice. This was an excellent opportunity for the public to make or update their Will.
Having a Will drawn up professionally ensures that loved ones are provided for and it will give you peace of mind knowing that your wishes will be carried out after your death.
St Joseph’s Hospice, a 29 bed hospice is the largest and oldest hospice on Merseyside. It is set in beautiful surroundings, in 12 acres of natural woodland. The hospice provides end of life care for people from the neighbouring areas. Every year, their staff care for around 200 patients and their families, however the money the charity receive from the NHS does not cover all the costs associated with the hospice, and they therefore rely heavily on help from volunteers assisting with fundraising, working in their shops, visiting patients and even down to keeping the hospice grounds maintained.
Maxwell Hodge are delighted to announced that they raised £800 for the hospice during Will Month, and recently attended at St Joseph’s Hospice to present the cheque. Christine Fazakerley, at Maxwell Hodge said “We have supported this very worthwhile cause now for over 5 years. We have personal experience of loved ones and clients who have received the utmost care and attention during the time they spent at St Joseph’s Hospice. The staff are amazing, and the kindness, care and attention that they give to their patients is exceptional.”
Norma Young, Head of Fundraising at St Joseph’s Hospice said “We are very grateful to the team at Maxwell Hodge, and all their generous clients, for their support during this year’s Will Month. The money they have raised by writing Wills throughout May will fund precious end of life nursing care for our patients and provide support for their loved ones at a very difficult time. Support from local businesses, like Maxwell Hodge, is vital for the hospice so that we can continue to provide the care and services we do for local people right across Merseyside.”
