Name change and national wellbeing accreditation ensures great start to 2020 for local garden supply company

Chamber Member, White Moss Horticulture, a subsidiary of Bord na Mona has changed it’s name to The Greener Gardening Company.

Steve Harper, Head of Commercial & Marketing for The Greener Gardening Company, says: “Our name change to The Greener Gardening Company allows us to offer a clear, easy-to-spot brand to UK consumers. Whilst they will be seeing a different logo on the shelves, they can still expect the same quality and same service they have come to expect from us as an industry leading brand.”

2020 is set to be a big year for the business. The company recently announced a new peat-free range of products, Happy Compost, which received astounding interest from existing trade customers and prospects alike at Glee, and received a ‘best in test’ performance against all major competitors in trials conducted at University College of Dublin.

In 2019 the company also added three new Which? ‘best buys’  in the latest compost trials which rigorously test and review over 25 products with each formulation assessed based on its quality and assurance.

The Greener Gardening Company has been very active improving the health and wellbeing of its UK employees. In Knowsley they have been taking an active part in the Knowsley Working Well programme funded by Public Health and run through Knowsley Chamber and through this the company went on to go for the national workplace well being charter. Over the past year they have been working on achieving this national wellbeing standard and topped-off a great year of dedication by successfully achieving the Workplace Wellbeing Charter (WWC).

WWC is more than just ticking a box. This charter mark means that the company has and is making a real commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of their workforce, making them an employer of choice for perspective employees.

The Charter is segmented into eight topic areas developed in line with best practice and the latest research. These topic areas range from leadership and absence management to physical activity and healthy eating and allow teams to be at their full potential.

This National accreditation demonstrates The Greener Gardening Company’s commitment to improving the lives of their employees.
