Please see below information in relation to international stress awareness week and links to some useful tools from HSE’s website.
As international stress awareness week approaches we are urging employers to to take action to prevent work-related stress.
In 2023/24, approximately half of all cases of work-related ill health in Great Britain were linked to stress, depression, or anxiety. On average, each affected worker took 20 days off due to these conditions.
That’s a significant impact of increased absence, reduced productivity, and higher staff turnover for businesses, and why it’s vital to act early.
Managing stress is a legal duty — and essential to protecting your people and productivity.
Make a practical change today. Start with any of these steps:
- visit the Working Minds campaign website and explore our free resources
- use the week to review your stress risk assessments
- check whether your team’s workloads are realistic and deadlines achievable
- start conversations using our Stress Talking Toolkit
