THE WRITE-ANGLE – an uncertain start to 2022 but lots to look forward to

Whilst remaining respectful to the many businesses who are continuing to experience challenges from Covid-19, I firmly believe that 2022 is an opportunity for Knowsley to celebrate its successes, we have a lot to look forward to in 2022…

That celebration has already started through Knowsley’s Borough of Culture year.  An opportunity for everyone, no matter where you live or what you do to take part in the many events and experiences across the borough, such as the illuminative Aqualux in Kirkby, the mesmerising Magic Wood in Halewood, the thought-provoking Gaia in St Chad’s Church, and the whimsical Quentin Blake Expedition in Kirkby Gallery.  There is truly something for everyone to enjoy.

The Chamber is looking forward to getting involved and celebrating Knowsley this coming year, and I would encourage everyone to play their part.

In this regard it is very much anticipated that our Visitor Economy Sector, for example hotels, restaurants, retailers, visitor attractions, and town centres will benefit from the many (day-trippers, short breaks, or longer) who will be travelling to Knowsley to attend Borough of Culture events.

I am pleased to share the news that the Chamber’s Visitor Economy Network (VEN) is to be chaired by Rachel Scott (Knowsley Hall and Safari Park), and that Lyndsay Stanistreet-Tyer, Business Relationship Manager at Knowsley Chamber is attracting new businesses into our network.

VEN was created to support and drive the borough’s visitor economy, to help sustain and grow businesses within the sector, and to encourage more visitors to come and discover what Knowsley has on offer.  There’s no better time to seize these opportunities through a network of like-minded people, and benefit from the collaboration that working together brings. Therefore, if you are interested in getting involved with the Knowsley VEN, do contact Lyndsay.stanistreet-tyer@knowsleychamber.org.uk

We are also looking forward to another exciting opportunity, the Chamber is adding the final touches to the ‘Knowsley Innovation in Business seminar and business fair’ which we are hosting alongside Knowsley Council and in partnership with The Good Business Festival. The event, which is being held on 1 March 2021 will see a panel of local businesspeople sharing and highlight how their businesses are innovating, investing and seizing new opportunities.   Following the seminar, we be hosting a ‘Trade Fair’ which will provide a platform and opportunity for our local businesses to showcase their products/services and meet up with potential new clients or customers.
