Workplace guidance for effective management and response to COVID-19

Knowsley Council has produced a handy workplace guidance pack for businesses across the borough helping them to effectively prepare and respond to COVID-19.

From knowing who to contact for advice or to report issues to the preventative actions businesses and staff can take will help stop the spread of the virus and ensure workplaces are safe, the guidance also includes the steps businesses need to take to become COVID-secure, how the test and trace programme helps to contain the virus in the event of an individual case or an outbreak, and sector specific guidance.

The pack also includes a range of signage and posters that can be downloaded around the wearing of a face coverings, keeping your 2m distance and handwashing – everything you need to promote safety and share key messages with staff and visitors.

Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, said: “There has been so many announcements by the Government, along with Government guidance issued, that we thought it was best to summarise this and keep all of the advice and guidance in one place – making it easier for our businesses to access and understand. The guidance provides ‘how to’ guides as well as templates to follow, ensuring workplaces are safe to reopen and importantly, stay open.”

In addition, a Frequently Asked Questions document has also been produced, to help businesses. It’s based on questions that have been asked throughout the pandemic and are now available in one handy place.

Cllr Sean Donnelly, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care, added “We all have a part to play in helping to stop the spread of the virus – employers need to ensure their workplaces and businesses are safe for staff and visitors alike and staff have a responsibility to follow the advice issued. If we all play our part, together we can build can a stronger, healthier Knowsley.”
