Adlib, a leading provider of technical production services across the live experience industry, has been honoured with the King’s Award for International Trade. The award was announced on Tuesday, 6th May, as part of the prestigious King’s Awards for Enterprise, recognising the company’s outstanding short-term growth in overseas sales.

Adlib is one of just 197 organisations to receive this honour in 2025. Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Prescot, Merseyside, with additional locations in Glasgow and London, the company has garnered a strong international reputation. The King’s Award highlights Adlib’s remarkable commercial success and ability to deliver high-quality technical production for projects across the globe, especially in the international touring market. From 2022 to 2024, Adlib’s overseas turnover saw significant growth, a testament to its leading role in the global live events industry and its strong relationships with clients in North America and beyond.

The Adlib Team’s Dedication and Success

John Hughes, Managing Director of Adlib, expressed his pride in receiving the award, saying, “We are immensely proud to have received this prestigious recognition. Over the past few years, we have experienced considerable growth while working on some of the industry’s largest tours, productions, and live venues. We have evolved into a 220+ person, multi-disciplined organisation with a global reputation, offering audio, lighting, and video services at the highest level.” Hughes continued, “This award is a tribute to our exceptional team of talented individuals who have helped deliver some of the most impressive shows on the international stage.”

In 2024, Adlib completed a successful management buyout, further strengthening its position as a leading provider of technical production. The company continues to collaborate with world-renowned artists such as Sam Fender, Jason Derulo, and Hozier, contributing to its thriving presence in the live experience industry. Adlib’s diverse team of engineers, technicians, designers, and support staff—including account managers, logistics experts, and warehouse operatives—delivers top-tier technical expertise for both live events and permanent installations worldwide.

A Legacy of Excellence

The King’s Award for Enterprise, previously known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, was renamed in 2023 to reflect His Majesty the King’s desire to carry on the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II by recognising exceptional UK businesses. Now in its 59th year, the Award programme remains the most prestigious business accolade in the country. As part of the award, Adlib is entitled to use the King’s Awards Emblem for the next five years, further solidifying its reputation as an industry leader in international trade.

Adlib’s continued success is a reflection of its commitment to excellence, innovation, and an unwavering dedication to providing world-class technical services in the global live events market.
