Every year, An Hour for Others helps bring Christmas joy to more than 250 children and young people across the region through its much-loved Christmas Kindness Campaign.

What makes the campaign so special is its personal approach. Rather than receiving generic gifts, children referred to the programme are invited to write their own letter to Santa, sharing the items they would most love to receive on Christmas morning.

Those letters are then matched with generous sponsors who agree to fund a child’s Christmas wish list, with gifts up to the value of £100. Sponsors receive the child’s wish list and can choose which items to purchase, before wrapping the gifts and delivering them to a central collection point. The presents are then delivered to families the week before Christmas, ensuring children wake up on Christmas Day to gifts they have genuinely wished for.

The campaign relies on the kindness and generosity of individuals, businesses, teams, families and community groups. Sponsors can choose to support one child or several children, helping even more young people experience the magic of Christmas.

For those who would like to help but are short on time, there is also the option to donate the sponsorship amount directly to An Hour for Others. The charity will then purchase the gifts on the sponsor’s behalf, with volunteers wrapping and preparing them ready for delivery.

As the cost of living continues to impact many families, this support can make a real difference, helping to create special memories and ensuring children feel remembered and cared for during the festive season.
