Bicycle recycling social enterprise MerseyCycle CIC has obtained funding through Cycle UK’s Big Bike Revival program to run a small series of events. From their base at Court Hey Park MerseyCycle will give some class room events dealing with topics such as gears and punctures.

The four courses will be given over the next few Tuesday afternoons commencing 23rd September and ends with a finale event on Saturday 25th October when an all-day Dr. Bike event will take place. During that event you can bring your bike along for an MOT, your bike will be checked over and you’ll be given handy hints on how to keep your bike in tip top condition. It may even be the case that MerseyCycle can carry out some minor repairs for free.

The classroom events take place in their workshop and are very interactive, as a consequence spaces are limited. The events are on 23rd and 30th September. 14th and 21st October and the Dr. Bike event on Saturday 25th. The classroom events require booking by email to merseycycle@gmail.com. The Dr. Bike event will be dealt with on a first come first served basis.

More information is held on their website at merseycyle.co.uk.

MerseyCycle is based in Court Hey Park L16 3NA and is run by former chamber member Barry. They have been recycling bikes for over 11 years now but also undertake servicing and repairs.
