Founded in May 2005 by Bert Bourchier, this family-run company has grown from humble beginnings to become a trusted name in Liverpool’s cleaning industry, serving prestigious clients like Audi, Morecrofts Solicitors, and Baltic Creative.
Bromley Cleaning Services was born out of Bert’s earlier venture, a cleaning supplies company established 39 years ago. When customers began asking for advice on cleaning floors, Bert saw an opportunity and launched Bromley Cleaning. Since December 2006, his daughter, Nikki Bourchier, has led the company as Managing Director, steering it to new heights after returning from maternity leave now with her twin boys, Jamie and Charlie.
From a team of just four cleaners in 2005, Bromley Cleaning now boasts 98 dedicated staff members. Nikki, a proud mother of three (now 13-year-old daughter Layla and her twin are 18!), attributes the company’s success to its family-oriented ethos and commitment to going the extra mile for clients. “We’re a local family business with a personal touch,” Nikki says. “We ensure our clients are delighted with the service we provide.”
A standout achievement for Bromley Cleaning was Nikki winning the Women in Business Award for Best Customer Focused Business at the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool; a proud moment that underscored the company’s dedication to excellence. The business has also weathered tough times, particularly during COVID-19, when 90% of staff were furloughed. Thanks to a core team performing critical COVID cleans, Bromley Cleaning kept essential businesses operational, showcasing their resilience and community spirit.
On a lighter note, Nikki fondly recalls a day when Bert, a passionate Evertonian, brought his racehorse, Bertie Blu Boy, to the company premises for photos—only for the horse to gallop freely across the car park, creating a memorable moment for the team!
Looking ahead, Bromley Cleaning is poised for growth, having recently welcomed a new manager and planning a move to larger premises. With a strong team and Nikki’s unwavering work ethic, the future looks bright.
