Residents across Knowsley and the wider Liverpool City Region are being encouraged to take advantage of a wide range of free courses launching this November through Knowsley Council’s Family and Community Education (FACE) Service.
Designed to support learning, wellbeing and personal development, the latest programme offers a diverse range of opportunities for adults looking to gain new skills, improve their confidence, explore new interests or take steps towards employment and further education.
Courses are being delivered across a variety of community venues in Kirkby, Huyton, Prescot, Halewood and Cronton, as well as online, helping make learning accessible for residents across the borough. Subjects include wellbeing-focused activities such as Yoga for Beginners, Reiki, Art for Wellbeing, Guided Relaxation Techniques and Writing for Wellbeing, alongside accredited courses covering Mental Health Awareness, Food Safety, Youth Work Principles, Supporting Teaching and Learning, Criminology and Psychology, and Creating a Business Start-Up.
The FACE programme forms part of Knowsley Council’s commitment to supporting residents’ wellbeing, lifelong learning and employability, providing opportunities for people to develop skills, meet new people and build confidence in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Whether you are looking to explore a new hobby, gain a qualification, return to learning after a break, or improve your employment prospects, there are courses available to suit a wide range of interests and aspirations.
Many of the courses lead to recognised qualifications, offering learners valuable knowledge and skills that can support progression into volunteering, further training or employment.
Courses are free for eligible adults aged 19 and over who live within the Liverpool City Region and meet the funding criteria. As places are limited, residents are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment.
