A range of free cycling events and workshops are being made available across the Liverpool City Region thanks to funding secured by MerseyCycle.
The initiative aims to help more people get active, develop cycling skills, and keep their bikes in safe working order.
The programme includes a variety of free activities, including:
- Dr Bike sessions offering free bicycle checks and minor repairs.
- Practical courses to help people learn how to maintain and repair their own bikes.
MerseyCycle is a community-focused organisation that recovers unwanted bicycles from various sources and, with the support of volunteers, refurbishes and recycles them. The bikes are then sold, with proceeds helping to fund the recycling of future bicycles.
As well as running cycling projects and events, the organisation also undertakes bicycle servicing and repairs. MerseyCycle is open on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturday mornings.
The free events provide a great opportunity for residents to improve their cycling knowledge, gain practical maintenance skills, and ensure their bikes remain safe and roadworthy. Further information, including event dates and details, is available directly from MerseyCycle.
