Merseyside energy efficiency specialist Gaia Energy has secured Constructionline Gold status and CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) certification as the company continues to expand its work in large-scale retrofit programmes and commercial solar projects.

The accreditations provide independent verification in key areas including health and safety, quality, compliance, financial stability and environmental management. They also strengthen Gaia Energy’s position when bidding for social housing and public sector contracts and frameworks.

Liam Gray, Managing Director at Gaia Energy, said: “Housing providers and other organisations commissioning large-scale retrofit and solar projects need contractors who have been independently verified, and these accreditations give our customers additional confidence in our approach, processes and quality standards.

“They also support our ambitions for the next phase of growth for Gaia Energy as we pursue new opportunities, while continuing to make homes more energy efficient, healthier and cheaper to run for residents.”

The latest accreditations come as Gaia Energy continues to expand its operations, with the business on track to exceed £5 million in turnover this year. Demand for retrofit is growing as housing providers face increasing pressure to improve the energy performance of existing housing stock and the government’s Warm Homes Plan sets out significant investment in home upgrades.

Gaia Energy partners with housing associations and local authorities to deliver energy efficiency upgrades through major government-backed schemes including the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund and Warm Homes: Local Grant. The company is currently delivering a £2.2 million retrofit programme for Prima Group covering more than 140 homes across Merseyside.

Based at Knowsley Business Park, Gaia Energy delivers a wide range of retrofit measures including insulation, heating upgrades, solar PV and heat pumps, alongside a growing number of commercial solar projects.
