JJ Smith are absolutely delighted to welcome participants from the Power of MIND (Mums in Data) Programme run by IN4 Group as part of their data project placement. Over the past month, it has been a real pleasure getting to know the MIND team and supporting them on their journey back into the workforce.

Throughout the placement, the participants took on a genuine data analysis project with us – gathering insights, exploring real operational datasets, and presenting their findings back to the team. Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and analytical thinking have been fantastic to see, and they have genuinely added value to our business along the way.

What the participants achieved

In just four weeks, the MIND cohort worked with live business data, identified key trends, and built dashboards to help the team better understand performance and future projections, delivering measurable insights that supported efficiency improvements and strengthened data-driven decision-making across the business.

“Working with JJ Smith was a rewarding experience. With Rachael’s support, I analysed historical data to identify key trends and developed a dashboard that helps the team better understand business performance and future projections.” Melani Coronel — MIND Programme Participant

My placement at JJ Smith gave me hands-on experience with real operational datasets, enabling me to analyse performance trends and deliver insights that supported measurable efficiency improvements and strengthened data-driven decision-making across the business. It was a highly rewarding experience that accelerated my professional growth.” Olamide Adeniyi — MIND Programme Participant

A word from the MIND Programme Manager

“We’ve loved working with the team at JJ Smith over the past month as part of the Mums in Data project placement. It makes such a huge difference partnering with employers who genuinely understand the value of flexibility and support when women are returning to work. This has shown that when businesses create the right environment, talent can truly shine!

These women have grown, contributed and added real value in four short weeks. A big thank you to the team at JJ Smith — especially Rachael Baker — who understood the vision from day one and backed it with real flexibility and encouragement throughout. That kind of support is essential for making projects like this successful.” Emily Smith — MIND Programme Manager, IN4 Group

About the Mums in Data Programme

The Power of MIND (Mums in Data) programme is a transformative training and placement initiative run by IN4 Group that supports stay-at-home mums and career-break female carers to re-enter the workforce through in-demand data roles. Delivered flexibly and with caregiving responsibilities in mind, the programme equips participants with skills in data analysis, Power BI, GDPR compliance, and more — before placing them with partner employers for real-world project experience.

The Liverpool City Region cohort runs for 16 weeks, combining part-time blended learning with a practical placement, and is designed to help women access high-quality, professional upskilling without compromising their family responsibilities.
