Alara Entertainment hosted “A rock ’n’ roll reunion with a murderous twist”.
Across two October weekends, more than 600 Warner Hotels guests became our detectives, stepping into the world of Rock ’n’ Roll Revenge with Alara Entertainment.
A band reunion should have been a reason to celebrate. In this story, old rivalries and buried secrets soon put the comeback under threat. When the band’s manager was murdered, our guests had a very different question to answer: which of these suspects could they believe?
That’s the pleasure of an immersive murder mystery weekend. The cast gives you characters to follow, clues to weigh up and conversations to question. Your theory can change with the next encounter. The photographs below bring you close to that experience, from the audience’s view to the cast’s own camera roll.
Weekend one · North Wales
Rock ’n’ Roll Revenge at Bodelwyddan Castle
9–12 October 2026 · Warner Hotels
Our first stop was Bodelwyddan Castle. Stone towers and archways made a striking setting for a weekend of intrigue, while inside, the theatre became a meeting place for suspects and detectives.
The camera roll moves between wide views of the audience and the little exchanges happening just a few feet from the tables. You can see how close the action comes: a character taking the floor, a microphone passed towards a suspect, guests watching for the detail that might change their minds.
Weekend two · Somerset
The mystery moves to Cricket St Thomas
16–19 October 2026 · Warner Hotels
Then it was on to Cricket St Thomas and a fresh audience of detectives. The same fictional world found a different home: bright costumes against blue curtains, scenes in front of a library backdrop and a line-up of suspects ready to be questioned.
These pictures show the range of a live weekender. There are ensemble moments on the stage, close-up exchanges beside the audience and wide shots that take in the whole room. Each brings a different perspective on the drama.
Between scenes, the gardens and hotel grounds offered a change of pace. Those quieter photographs belong in the story too: a murder mystery weekender is a getaway as well as an investigation.

Behind the scenes: building a world worth investigating
Before the detectives arrive, there are props to place and a fictional crime scene to prepare. A numbered marker, a taped doorway or an everyday object in an unexpected position can turn a hotel room into something guests want to examine more closely.
Our backstage photographs capture that work alongside the people doing it: cast preparing together, costumes and selfies, and quiet moments between scenes. It’s a different view of the weekends, and a reminder of the teamwork behind the characters.
