Take advantage of a wide range of free adult learning opportunities as Knowsley FACE unveils its new Health-Related Skills for Work and Life curriculum for September 2026.
Knowsley FACE, Knowsley Council’s Adult and Community Education Service, provides a friendly, supportive and inclusive learning environment where adults can develop new skills, build confidence and take positive steps towards further education, employment or personal development. Courses are delivered in community venues across the borough as well as online, making learning accessible and flexible for local residents.
The new programme includes a broad range of accredited courses designed to support career progression and personal growth. Learners can enrol on qualifications such as Supporting Teaching and Learning, Counselling Skills, British Sign Language, Criminology and Psychology, Mental Health Awareness, Understanding Autism, Youth Work Principles, Food Safety and Creating a Business Start-Up. There are also specialist courses covering Dementia, Domestic Abuse, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Safeguarding and Prevent, and Working with People with Mental Health Needs.
Courses will be delivered at a variety of locations across Knowsley, including Prescot Fire Station, Prescot Town Hall, Kirkby Hub and New Hutte Neighbourhood Centre in Halewood, alongside a selection of online learning opportunities. This flexible approach helps ensure learners can access training close to home or from the comfort of their own environment.
Importantly, all courses are free for individuals who are unemployed or earning below £37,144 per year and who live within the Liverpool City Region, including Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, Wirral, Halton and St Helens.
