Funds raised for secondary breast cancer charity at the event hosted by Trinity Logistics.
Liverpool city centre restaurant Gaucho was the setting for a sell-out lunch celebrating women hosted by Chamber Members, Trinity Logistics.
Delivering The Power of Women was hosted by Radio City’s Leanne Campbell with guests including Real Housewives of Cheshire star Seema Malhotra. Both are backers of charity the Fighting to be Heard Foundation which celebrates its first birthday on Saturday and is run by volunteers with many of the trustees secondary breast cancer patients.
Amanda Unsworth, MD of Trinity Logistics which hosted the event, addressed the audience, which also included the Lord Mayor of Liverpool Cllr Mary Rasmussen and High Sheriff of Merseyside Dr Ruth Hussey, from an elevated stage telling how she started working on the docks at the age of 17 before starting her own successful supply-chain business in a male-dominated industry.
The proud mum, who passed her international transport manager exam while on maternity leave looking after a two-week-old baby, has pledged to raise £20,000 for Fighting to be Heard after losing much-loved family members to breast cancer. The event was supported by a number of local businesses including headline sponsors Peel Ports, MSC and Vibe HR while guests were given goodie bags from Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar. The entertainment came from singers Liliana Ortega and Rosalie Galvin.
The Fighting to be Heard Foundation supports patients with incurable secondary breast cancer, ensuring their voices are heard, while also providing crucial financial support to families by distributing grants. The charity was launched in March 2023 and has featured on reality TV show the Real Housewives of Cheshire.
Trinity Logistics MD Amanda said: “Ahead of International Women’s Day on March 8, we wanted to start the month off celebrating all things women. The event aimed to highlight our industry and how it touches every business across the globe. We also want to bring more businesses together locally in Liverpool and shout about our amazing port.
“I hope that my story will inspire at least one lady to take the next step in their career or towards their personal aspirations. I have chosen to support the amazing charity Fighting to be Heard because my family has been impacted greatly by breast cancer, and I have two young daughters, so it’s very close to my heart.
