Walking Food Tours UK celebrates Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best award for its Taste of Liverpool Food & Drink Tour

Walking Food Tours UK is celebrating after its Taste of Liverpool Food & Drink Tour was named a 2026 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best winner.

The prestigious award places the Liverpool experience among the highest-rated experiences on Tripadvisor, recognising businesses that consistently deliver an exceptional experience for their guests.

For Walking Food Tours UK founder Gareth Boyd, the award is particularly special because it is driven by the people who matter most to the business — its guests.

“Awards are always fantastic, but this one means a huge amount because it is ultimately about what our guests think,” says Gareth.

“We’ve always believed that a great food tour is about much more than eating and drinking. It’s about the people you meet, the stories you hear, the venues you discover and seeing a city you may think you know from a completely different perspective.”

The Taste of Liverpool Food & Drink Tour takes guests on a journey through the city centre, visiting independent food and drink businesses while introducing them to some of Liverpool’s history, culture and characters along the way.

The experience has been designed to showcase the city’s vibrant independent food scene, with guests tasting their way around Liverpool while discovering some of the people and stories behind the businesses.

And that combination appears to be resonating with visitors.

Walking Food Tours UK began its food tourism journey in Chester eight years ago before expanding its experiences across the North West and beyond.

Liverpool has become one of the company’s key destinations, with its Taste of Liverpool experience also having previously been recognised as Experience of the Year at the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards earlier this year.

For Gareth, the Tripadvisor recognition reinforces the company’s belief that the details of the guest experience really matter.
