Livv Housing Group, a leading housing association based in Knowsley, has announced the findings of its latest Social Accounts report, which details the generation of £65,558,485 in social value during the 23/24 financial year.
The report reveals that for every £1 invested by Livv Housing Group, an incredible £11.07 in social value was delivered, a testament to Livv’s unwavering commitment to driving lasting, positive change for its customers and the wider community.
Social value is a measurement of the benefits that services and programmes bring to customers and their communities. Impact is measured using the HACT UK Social Value Bank. Livv is leading the way as one of the only housing associations in the Liverpool City Region to report on this.
This year’s report focuses on several key themes that have had significant social impact, including:
- Financial wellbeing and resilience
- Employment, training and skills
- Health and wellbeing
- Social inclusion and connectivity
- Support for young people
Key statistics from the report include:
- 4,316 customers supported to improve their financial wellbeing and resilience
- 2,432 people provided with vouchers for fuel, food and essential items
- £92,761 in savings secured for customers through the Pocket Power initiative
- 394 customers assisted in accessing employment, training and development opportunities
- 12 apprenticeships created at Livv and 18 apprenticeships created by Livv’s development and supply chain partners
- 2,606 customers supported in improving their health and wellbeing
- 2,791 customers helped to improve social inclusion and access to wider opportunities
Léann Hearne, Chief Executive of Livv Housing Group, commented:
“We’re proud to share our annual Social Accounts and the meaningful impact we’ve made this year. While numbers and data are important, this report showcases how, through collaboration with colleagues, customers and community partners, we’ve made a genuine difference to people’s lives, as well as limiting the impact on the public purse.
“As always, our focus remains firmly on our customers. Our dedicated teams have gone above and beyond during a challenging year, applying their expertise to make sure our customers’ needs are always met. Whether they’re facing mental, physical, or financial challenges, experiencing social isolation, or seeking a new career path, we work with them to achieve the best outcome possible.
“We remain committed to delivering social value and will continue to build on this success, ensuring that every investment made contributes to a brighter future for the communities we serve.”
In 2023/24, Livv delivered several impactful projects, including Give, Get, Go, which supports long-term unemployed customers with wellbeing and employability, and Healthy Lifestyle Choices, a six-month programme run across Knowsley focused on nutrition, physical and mental health, in partnership with local organisations.
When 19-year old Connor joined the Healthy Lifestyle Choices programme, he was withdrawn and disengaged. Six months later, he’s transformed into a completely different person. Reflecting on his journey, he says: “Healthy Lifestyle Choices has helped me in so many ways. I feel physically fitter, mentally stronger, more confident and I’ve learnt so much about nutrition.” Connor now enjoys going out with his friends, is doing better at college, and regularly volunteers with his local community group. He’s looking forward to the future.
To address the digital divide, Livv partnered with existing initiatives across the Liverpool City Region, providing 266 customers with free SIM cards or devices and digital training. The Livv in Your Community grant scheme awarded £50,000 to local organisations, benefiting 1,245 people with warm spaces, meals and activities during winter.
Livv also launched its £4.25million Livv and Flourish social investment fund earlier this year, which will further enhance its community impact through its work offering support to ambitious social enterprises.
