For the 2026-2027 academic year, Liverpool John Moores University’s Discovery Internships Programme is offering fully funded 100-hour internships for undergraduate students (Levels 5 and 6). Employers are invited to provide supportive, structured work experience opportunities that help students build confidence, develop key skills and discover their unique strengths, while organisations benefit from fresh perspectives and emerging talent.
LJMU and Unitemps will cover the full cost of student wages and provide end-to-end support, including advertising opportunities, candidate selection, timesheet processing and student payments.
Application deadline: Midday, Sunday 30 August 2026
Anticipated internship start date: Week commencing 19 October 2026
Please note: if a high volume of project submissions is received, applications may close before the advertised deadline. Early submission is strongly recommended.

Eligibility Criteria
Project Eligibility
Projects must:
- Add value to both the organisation and the student’s skills development
- Not be used to cover the role of another employee
- Not replace or remove responsibilities from existing staff roles
Organisation Eligibility
Organisations should ideally:
- Employ 250 people or fewer
- Not be owned by LJMU staff
- Be based within the Liverpool City Region
Previous internship hosts are welcome to apply, although priority may be given to organisations that have not previously participated in the programme.
