Working Well/Knowsley Chamber of Commerce would like to express their sincere gratitude to Evolving Mindset and the Paul Lavelle Foundation for organising an insightful and impactful event focused on Men’s Mental Health. Recognising the signs of domestic abuse in men, and emphasising the importance of acknowledging It’s OK to Not Be OK.
We also extend our thanks to the Sterling Plastering Group for generously hosting the event in their boardroom and providing refreshments throughout the morning.
The event was well-attended, and the feedback received was overwhelmingly positive. Some of the comments included:
- “Very interesting, eye-opening, and relevant.”
- “Excellent, meaningful, and thought-provoking.”
- “A great educational experience.”
- “Keep up the great work.”
- “Thank you – it gave me valuable insight into how to approach someone who may be struggling.”
- “Brilliant, thank you!”
This event highlighted the importance of recognising when someone may not be okay, especially if they seem withdrawn, quiet, or unlike their usual selves. Attendees learned not only how to spot these signs but also how to approach individuals with empathy and understanding, offering practical advice on the right questions to ask and how to ask them without sounding confrontational or condescending.
If you believe someone you know may need support, guidance, or simply someone to talk to, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Working Well Coordinators at Knowsley Chamber of Commerce. They can connect you with the appropriate resources and organisations directly.
