A new preventative health initiative designed to improve long-term wellbeing across Merseyside is attracting significant interest, but demand for the programme is currently exceeding the number of funded places available.

The Merseyside Longevity & Preventative Health Programme is a 12-month initiative that combines health education, advanced diagnostics, mental resilience coaching, and structured exercise programmes to help participants take control of their long-term health.

Since opening applications, the programme has received over 100 enquiries, highlighting the growing demand for accessible preventative health support within the community. However, only a limited number of places can currently be funded.

Participants attend bi-weekly health seminars, HeartMath-based mind coaching sessions, and bi-weekly functional exercise programmes designed to build sustainable lifestyle habits. Alongside this, participants undergo a series of assessments at the start and end of the programme including blood biomarker testing, body composition analysis, posture assessments, VO₂ max testing, and metabolic health analysis.

This data-driven approach allows participants to measure improvements in cardiovascular fitness, metabolic health, stress resilience, and overall wellbeing over the course of the year.

Programme organiser Matthew Maloney believes the initiative fills a major gap in preventative healthcare.

“There is nothing like this anywhere in the country. It is a one-of-a-kind programme for our community, and I’m confident many regions across the UK would love the opportunity to have something like this available to their residents.”

To expand access, organisers are now seeking corporate sponsorship to fund additional places for individuals who would benefit most but may not otherwise be able to participate.

Businesses supporting the programme can help improve community health while demonstrating meaningful commitment to corporate social responsibility and preventative wellbeing across Merseyside.
