PrivilegeHR is encouraging all Knowsley Chamber members to prepare for two significant shifts in employment legislation: the upcoming changes to sexual harassment law and the revised ACAS Code of Practice. Both updates place greater emphasis on prevention, clarity and early intervention, meaning employers will need to review their policies, processes and manager guidance to remain compliant.
Upcoming Sexual Harassment Legislation Changes
The new duty on employers to take all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment represents one of the most substantial changes in recent years. Organisations will be expected to demonstrate proactive action, including risk assessments, culture reviews, clear reporting routes and regular training. Policies alone will no longer be enough; employers must be able to evidence how risks are identified and managed.
ACAS Code of Practice Updates
ACAS is also introducing changes that will reshape how disciplinaries and grievances are handled. The revised Code strengthens expectations around informal resolution, consistency, documentation and communication. Many organisations will need to update internal procedures, manager guidance and employee handbooks to ensure alignment with the new standards.
PrivilegeHR is here to support all Knowsley Chamber members through these changes. Their team is already working with businesses across the region to review policies, refresh documentation and provide practical guidance tailored to each organisation’s needs.
Any member who would like support preparing for the upcoming legislation is encouraged to get in touch with the PrivilegeHR team. They are ready to help ensure your organisation remains compliant, confident and well‑prepared for the months ahead.
