Morecrofts Solicitors are once again hosting the Domestic Abuse Conference.

Specialists in psychotherapy, psychology and technology are among the guest speakers at this year’s Domestic Abuse Conference.

Dr Keri Nixon, consultant forensic psychologist, and Dr. Ged Smith, consultant systemic psychotherapist and trainer, will be joined by Detective Superintendent Sabi Kaur MBE from Merseyside Police and Emma Pickering, Senior Tech Abuse Manager at Refuge

The multi-agency conference, presented by Morecrofts Solicitors, educates delegates from a wide range of professional backgrounds who encounter domestic abuse through their work, including law enforcement, healthcare, social work, local government, academia and housing.

The event takes place at the Hilton Hotel on Thursday 20 June and is supported by Torus Housing. Jill Ellis, domestic abuse team leader and Kayleigh Archbold, domestic abuse operations manager at Torus Housing, will also address delegates.

Partner and domestic abuse team lead at Morecrofts Solicitors, Jo-anne Lomax, said:

“Domestic abuse is a terrible scourge on our society and sadly the victims of domestic abuse are found in all walks of life and there is  high prevalence of the domestic abuse in our local communities.

“The Domestic Abuse Conference is a must-attend event for anyone who encounters the impact of domestic abuse in their professional lives, helping them to stay up to date with the latest advice on best practice and allowing them to share insights and best practice with their peers.

“This year’s speakers bring a wealth of experience across many forums, but particularly mental health issues such as complex trauma, PTSD, depression and anxiety, as well as expert specialisms such as challenging masculinity in therapy and technology-facilitated abuse.”

Tickets for the all-day conference include light breakfast, lunch, and afternoon refreshments included in the ticket price of £80, plus VAT and fees. They can be booked at www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-domestic-abuse-conference-2024-liverpool-tickets-862113764477
