If you’re looking for flexible, part-time work that fits around family life, Huyton Travel is recruiting school bus drivers across Huyton and the Wirral.
Ideal for parents, carers, semi-retired individuals or anyone seeking term-time employment, these roles offer school-friendly hours, allowing you to work around the school run while enjoying all school holidays off.
No previous bus driving experience or bus licence? No problem. Through a partnership with Abacus Training, full bus driver training is provided from start to finish, helping successful applicants gain the qualifications needed to begin their new career.
What’s on Offer?
Once qualified, drivers can benefit from:
- Monday to Friday, term-time only working pattern
- School holidays off
- Paid induction training
- A guaranteed minimum of 20 hours per week during the training period before January 2027
- From January 2027, a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week for those covering both morning and afternoon routes
- £13.80 per hour, rising to £15.00 per hour from 1 April 2027
- The option to spread term-time earnings across 12 months for a regular monthly income
- Single-session opportunities for candidates only available during mornings or afternoons
Applicants will need to hold a full UK car driving licence before beginning the training programme. The team will discuss training schedules, job duties and requirements during the recruitment process.
