SGD Fire Protection is proud to officially announce the launch of the SGD Foundation, a major milestone in the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting the communities it serves across the Knowsley Borough and beyond.

The SGD Foundation has been created to provide meaningful support to Community Interest Companies (CICs) throughout Knowsley, offering access to grants that will help fund impactful projects, community-led initiatives, and local causes that make a genuine difference to people’s lives.

The foundation will operate in partnership with Community Foundation for Merseyside, helping ensure funding reaches the organisations and initiatives creating positive change within local communities.

Since launching nearly four years ago, SGD Fire Protection has built a strong reputation not only within the fire protection industry, but also for its dedication to charitable giving and community support. The business already proudly supports a range of local causes and organisations, including Centre 63, Knowsley Foodbank, Zoe’s Place, grassroots football teams, British and Commonwealth Bantamweight Champion Andrew Cain.

The launch of the SGD Foundation formalises that commitment and marks the beginning of a long-term mission to create lasting impact where it matters most.

Shaun Davidson, Director at SGD Fire Protection, said:

“Anyone who knows me knows I’ve never been driven about money. I grew up in a council house and I wouldn’t change that for the world. I just found something I love doing as a job and created a business. But the SGD Foundation, this is the thing I’m most proud of career wise. It’s about giving something back, supporting CICs and proper causes around Knowsley, and just trying to make a difference where it actually matters. I’ve always just wanted better for everyone around me- our staff, our clients, everyone we deal with. We’re nearly four years into SGD… and honestly, it still feels like we’re only just getting started.”

Speaking on the launch, the company reiterated its commitment to building stronger communities and supporting people through action, not words.

“At SGD Fire Protection, we believe business should stand for more than just commercial success. The SGD Foundation allows us to invest directly into the people, organisations, and projects that are helping improve lives across our communities. We are here to make a difference, and we will do that.”
