The Prescot School kicked off the autumn term with a strong sense of community and positivity. In celebration of World Mental Health Day, students and staff came together to raise over £100 in support of mental health awareness initiatives. Staff wore bright yellow as part of the national #HelloYellow campaign, helping to promote wellbeing and solidarity across the school.

Students have embraced the school’s values of respect, responsibility, and readiness, consistently demonstrating positive behaviour and a commitment to learning. Year 7 students, in particular, have made an impressive start, settling in well and becoming valued members of the school community. The school continues to nurture its Legendary Learners ethos, encouraging kindness, integrity, and tenacity in every classroom and corridor. With clear routines, high expectations, and engaging lessons, the school is fostering an environment where every student can thrive.

Extracurricular life at TPS is flourishing, with a record number of students participating in clubs during lunch and after school. There are now 75 clubs available, offering something for everyone—from STEM and Cooking to Netball, Gym, Crochet, and Music. This vibrant club culture is helping students explore new interests, build friendships, and develop skills beyond the classroom.

Sporting achievements have also been a highlight this term. The Year 10 Boys Football team advanced to the second round of the National Cup, while the Year 7 Boys Football team celebrated their first-ever match with a win. Notably, Ollie was selected to train with England U15s at St George’s Park, and Tane earned a spot in the Wigan Warriors scholarship programme. Other students, including Jack, Kaeden, and Heidi, have excelled in football and dance competitions, with Heidi placing second out of 107 contestants.

Beyond sports, students have made remarkable contributions to the wider community. Annie, a student DJ, performed at an event aimed at empowering young women to start their own businesses. Meanwhile, Dylan won a Merseyside Police competition by designing an LGBTQ+ awareness poster, which now proudly appears on police vans in Knowsley. Dylan and his friends also enjoyed a prize day of activities at Everton Football Club.

The school recently hosted a successful Open Evening, welcoming Year 6 students and their families. Visitors had the opportunity to explore classrooms, meet staff, and experience the vibrant atmosphere of The Prescot School. The event was filled with excitement and inspiration, and the school looks forward to welcoming many of these future learners next September.

To celebrate academic excellence, the school introduced the ‘Working like a Legend’ table—a special recognition space where students who produce outstanding work can share their achievements with the Senior Leadership Team. This initiative aims to inspire all students to aim high and take pride in their learning.

Finally, TPS is offering a Saturday Club for KS2 students, run by fully qualified staff. The club provides engaging sessions in Drama, Music, and PE, giving younger students a chance to experience the school’s dynamic learning environment.
