Do you ever find yourself with surplus stock, customer returns, or seconds that just take up space and cause more hassle than they’re worth? This is a common challenge for many businesses. Perfectly good items often end up costing money to store or dispose of, creating extra stress and wasted resources.
At Innovate Volunteering, we understand those pressures, because as a small Knowsley-based organisation, we’re facing our own challenges too. As the landscape becomes more competitive and the need to diversify income streams grows, it’s becoming harder for community organisations like ours to survive. That’s why we’re reaching out to build partnerships with local businesses so we can support each other.
Who we are
We are Innovate Volunteering, a small but impactful community organisation that has been supporting local people in Knowsley for over 14 years. We run Bryer Road Community Centre, a welcoming hub and haven of activity where people can connect, reduce loneliness, and feel part of something positive. Alongside this, we provide a hospital discharge service to support people returning home safely, and a social prescribing service that connects residents with activities to reduce loneliness and improve wellbeing.
We work closely with the local community, local organisations, GPs, Adult Social Care, and the NHS, ensuring that those who need us most are referred into the right support. Our work is all about helping people feel less isolated, more supported, and more connected to their community, to help prevent crisis.
We also operate a small charity shop, which raises vital funds to keep these projects going. And this is where your business can make a real difference.
How your business can help (and benefit)
By donating your surplus stock, seconds, or end-of-line items to our shop, you can:
- Save money – reduce storage and disposal costs
- Save time & hassle – we keep the donation process simple and flexible
- Show your values – demonstrate your social value and sustainability commitments in a visible, local way
- Be recognised – we love to celebrate our community partners publicly (if you’d like us to)
- Protect the environment – by repurposing and reusing items, you’ll reduce waste and play a part in creating a more sustainable Knowsley
Instead of being wasted, every item becomes affordable for local people, and every pound raised goes straight back into projects that reduce loneliness, improve mental health, and bring people together right here in Knowsley.
Let’s support each other
This isn’t just about donations. It’s about Knowsley businesses and community organisations standing side by side, making things a little easier for each other while creating something bigger together.
