Employers and employees from across Knowsley and the Liverpool City Region gained vital life-saving skills at a special Working Well training event hosted by Knife Savers at New Hutte Neighbourhood Centre.
When seconds matter, knowing how to respond can save a life. That was the powerful message at the event, which brought together businesses and organisations to learn how to recognise and respond to life-threatening bleeding incidents before emergency services arrive.
Working Well welcomed Mr Nikhil Misra and the KnifeSavers team, who delivered an engaging and informative session aimed at increasing confidence, knowledge and practical skills among attendees. Participants learned simple but critical interventions that could help preserve life in an emergency situation.
The event also featured Kays Medical, who showcased bleeding control kits and highlighted the important role these resources can play in emergency response.
By equipping people with these essential skills, the initiative is helping to create safer workplaces, strengthen community resilience and empower individuals to take action when it matters most.
The event received excellent feedback from those in attendance, with participants praising both the quality and importance of the training.
One attendee said:
“Fantastic life-saving workshop. An amazing event that I would highly recommend.”
Another commented:
“Very informative. Hopefully I’ll never have to use these skills, but I now have the confidence to act if I ever find myself in that situation.”
Working Well was delighted to welcome Cllr Christine Bannon, Cabinet Member for Health, and Sarah McNulty, Director of Public Health Knowsley, whose attendance demonstrated the importance of community-based initiatives that improve public health and safety.
A spokesperson for Working Well said:
“Every person trained is another person prepared to step forward in an emergency. By sharing these simple but potentially life-saving skills, we are helping to build safer, stronger and more resilient communities across Knowsley and the wider Liverpool City Region.”
Working Well thanked everyone who attended and participated in the session and encouraged businesses and individuals to explore future events.
