SGD Fire Protection Ltd, a fast-growing leader in passive fire protection based in the North West and serving clients across the United Kingdom, is celebrating a remarkable year in 2025. The company has achieved major industry recognition, expanded into new headquarters, and delivered an exceptional level of community support that far surpasses its original targets.

Since moving into its first headquarters, “Office 8”, in January 2024, SGD has experienced rapid
growth across the North West and nationally, driven by strong client demand and ambitious
expansion plans. The next step in this exciting journey is the move into a purpose-built facility just
shy of 6,000 sq ft, marking a major milestone for the company. The expansive new space will
provide enhanced operational capacity with dedicated zones for training, equipment storage and
administrative support, a collaborative environment to foster teamwork and innovation within a
rapidly growing workforce, improved client engagement areas to support planning and project
coordination, and room for future growth as the company continues to scale its services across the
UK.
SGD proudly received two major honours at the Knowsley Business Awards: Winner of Micro
Business of the Year 2025 and a shortlisting for the Corporate Social Responsibility Award. These
achievements reflect the company’s rapid growth, professionalism and values-driven approach to
both business and community. In addition, 2025 saw SGD attend the first ever IFSM Awards, where
the team received a Highly Commended recognition, further cementing their position as one of the
most respected emerging names in the fire protection sector.
On a national level, SGD continued to shine as it was named a finalist for Customer Service of the
Year at the ASFP Awards 2025. This acknowledgment highlights the company’s dedication to
exceptional customer care, meticulous workmanship and a focus on doing things the right way
every time.
One of the most significant achievements of 2025 came through SGD’s commitment to social value.
According to data from the company’s Social Value Dashboard, SGD set a target of one hundred
thousand pounds for 2025. As of this year, the company has achieved an extraordinary £623,720 in
measurable social value. This is more than six times the original target and more than double the
previously agreed figure of £278,150. The accomplishment reflects the company’s deep
commitment to the communities it serves and its belief that success should always create wider
benefit.
Managing Director Shaun Davidson said: “At SGD Fire Protection, giving back to the community
and the areas we work in is something we are truly passionate about. To be over six hundred
percent ahead of our target for this point in the year is incredible, but what matters most is how we
use that success to make a positive impact. We are committed to supporting and bettering our local
communities, creating opportunities, and improving our own team along the way. When our people
grow and our communities thrive, so does SGD and that is what it is all about.”
Since its establishment in 2022, SGD Fire Protection has grown into one of the region’s leading fire
protection companies, delivering the design, installation and maintenance of high-quality systems
and specialised passive fire protection solutions nationwide. The company’s success has been built
on reliability, professionalism and an unwavering commitment to safety and quality. Beyond its
commercial achievements, SGD has made social impact a core part of its identity.
Social value at SGD encompasses charitable giving, community investment, staff development and
sustainable practices. Every decision, from recruitment to project delivery, is guided by the principle
of leaving a positive and lasting impact. Over the past year, SGD has supported Centre 63,
Knowsley Foodbank and Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice through regular donations, provided a
defibrillator to a local care home, sponsored multiple grassroots football teams across the region,
continued sponsorship of British and Commonwealth Bantamweight Boxing Champion Andrew
Cain, supported world-class darts champion Stephen Bunting, and sponsored the Sevilla Under 12
Girls Team, promoting inclusive youth sport opportunities. These initiatives highlight the company’s
belief in ambition, community wellbeing and stronger local connections.
SGD also places a strong focus on developing its team. The company continues to invest in staff
training, apprenticeships and career development, helping employees grow professionally and
personally. With many staff members coming from the local area, these opportunities support both
individual progression and a stronger regional workforce.
SGD operates on a simple philosophy: when people grow, communities thrive and in turn the
business thrives too. Exceeding its 2025 social value target by such a significant margin is not only
a financial milestone but a clear reflection of the company’s culture, its people and its dedication to
responsibility.
As SGD continues to expand its operations across the UK, the company remains committed to
maintaining the community focus that has shaped its success. Plans for 2026 include extending
charitable partnerships, introducing additional training pathways and exploring new sustainability
initiatives to further reduce environmental impact. SGD also looks forward to attending both
regional and national awards next year as the company continues to shine in the fire protection
sector.
